Default Could Sega be censoring Bayonetta?

You shoot angels in this game. Sure, not the religious kind, and I know all of us here understand what goes on in this game, but some of you know how sensitive American audiences are to this kind of stuff. (I don't know about EU.)

Is it possible that this is the reason why the NA and EU versions were delayed?

I've shot "angels" in other games in the past so I don't see the angel problem. If there's any controversy over it from a Christian group or so, it's still good publicity.

Censors? What sensors. Not when they've already released a demo for the 360.

And besides, if there was to be that sort of controversy, wouldn't it have happened long ago the second this game was announced?

Yeah, I seriously doubt it. This isn't 1992, and this isn't Nintendo. Even back in the 16-bit days when games would be censored when they came to America, Sega would have the balls to release games as is whereas their Super Nintendo counterparts were the ones to have subject matter editted.

Hmm...well, you do have a good point, but that mean in case if Americans and EU (or rest of the whole world) did not approve of it, how will they censor it? its not few cutscens or something minor as that. Instead of censoring it, they will have to rebuild the whole thing again. At lest, that what I see. But its possible if they wanted to, they can edit few story part if they have to, witch probably the idea have crossed their minds. They probably delayed the game for marketing reasons, after all, Bayonetta is still a new game and their is other much popular games then Bayonetta right now witch many gamers in the world are waiting for (like Assassin's Creed 2, Modern Warfare 2, Tekken 6, Halo ODST, uncharted 2...etc) they are all coming almost in the same time. I really think Bayonetta release date (5th of January) is perfect both for marketing and getting feedback from people who played the Japanese version in case they want to add/edit things in the last minute.

I hope they don't if they censor any of the sub par nudity or the violent special attacks it would sort of lose some of the appeal :\. I'm excited for it for it's kinky, bizarre and original look and feel it would be a shame to lose some of that because of some religious group or "Think of the children" types.

*sigh*

They've already stated why it's been delayed. I can understand some concern but how many times must this question be asked?

I would think Americans would be more sensitive about terrorists and yet no one censored Modern Warfare 2 terrorist gameplay...I think the delay has to do with fine tuning and production related things...

Hey look, this again.

Lol at the people that actually think that the producers or Sega give 2 craps about the concept of killing "angels" in an action game.

Especially Bayonetta, a game where it doesn't take itself seriously 98% of the time by what i've seen.
