Default Zero Punctuation reviews MadWorld

And hates it, despite every complaint he has applying to No More Heroes as well, a game which he loves.

Hmm... I noticed that comparison too. As a long-time Zero Punctuation viewer, I must say, this one didn't get much laughs from me. Maybe because I saw how much effort PG were putting into MadWorld for so long. Oh well. It's how Yahtzee gets his money, I suppose.

Nah. Madworld rocks. The shame about this review is that it falls in to his rut of hating on games (I feel) purely for the challenge of trying to be amusing while hating. To throw a game in with the fine company of devil may cry and godhand then say that it's not good is kinda odd. Oh wait... he blamed it on wii waggle... Which you only really do during chainsaw attacks and power struggles. And I didn't find it to be unresponsive. It added an extra level of panic to those moments. Then to hate on it for being on the wii seems like another odd choice since I feel platinum made a great choice there. True Madworld might have found an audience on the other systems, but it immediately stood out since it was on the wii and again, the use of the wii waggle helped push it past 'just another beat 'em up'.

Luckily most people know Yahtzee hates for cash so it's all good.

For what it's worth, his comment about it's lack of any real length is pretty valid. I mean any kind of beat em up is going to be fairly limited regardless of it's context.

I think much of what he says is perfectly valid. MadWorld was for me a huge let down. Certainly not a game for those looking for something "hardcore" on Wii, it seems much more like a casual game with blood. The combat is weak and lacks any depth or skill required..

The game is great imo. It's the most fun game i've played from Sega in any form in a while (I know there are better Sega games out there, but I only got a Wii) The only thing that keeps me from enjoying the game 100% is the controls. I think that's mostly Nintendo's fault though. Waggling isn't cool when it doesn't work, but that's all you got when you work with the Wii. The game's skill level can only have as much depth as the interface will allow it, which in this case ain't a whole lot. I wish I could finish the game, but since I hurt my neck the other day, I can't play any Wii games. That's one reason why Wii sucks so much sometimes.
