Excellent game with minor set backs like the camera and the 50hrz borders on the PAL version.
I would love to see a sequel and make Jack a gaming icon but i do not know how profitable was for you guys because everyone is keep saying about the sales and that it was on the Wii.
I love my Wii and i use it as my primary console and you guys make the most awesome games in the industry(Okami,MadWorld,Infinite Space,Bayonetta,Viewtiful Joe, God Hand). It is a real shame that gamers do not buy their games based on quality but on marketing campains.
I vote for you, you are the reasson i still play videogames and enjoy them!!

I like it so much I bought 2 copies!
Platinumgames/Clover games are the best of the best, every time. Godhand and Okami especially are two of the best games ever made. Madworld is also amazing, and only would have been better if it were longer. But I really love just about everything about it. Proops and Dimaggio are perfect, and the soundtrack is the best since Godhand!!!
Thanks for making the games that push the envelope! The rest of the industry could learn from Platinumgames and Suda 51!!!

Finally playing it..
I finally got the game, it's cool, but yeah, sacrificing any camera control for the item system was a bad move.. they should have just done like other games and simply press A when you're over the power-up.

AWESOME SAUCE
-Visual style is awesome, loved the onomatopoeia popping up everywhere
-LOVED all the finishes, yeah, I'm looking at you Jude :P
-Awesome soundtrack, made me stop chainsawing just to be able to listen to it
-Dialogue between characters was awesome! "I don't serve justice and I sure as hell aren't it's b****"
-Story was VERY well thought out, I was surprised at such a deep plot for such a game 0-0
-Commentary was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G =D
MEH...
-Camera screwed up from time to time
-Didn't really use the lock-on, never went where I wanted it too
-Motorcycle bits were a tad dull
-Not enough female characters
WISHFUL THINKING
Ight well I know this is impossible. Like. Reallyyyy impossible. But just so that you can imagine
It would be cool if the online experience was an MMO =D, like you get to make your own character, own weapons, and travel in the world of Death Watch. Then, when you see someone you want to fight, you go to one of those bells and you both hit and it'll bring you to an arena. Full with level-ups and rankings =D
But it's impossible XD

The best: The Dialogue. Mainly the commentators. Not only does the game have professionals as the commentators, but they are friggin hilarious.
"You're all alone Jack, Fart Away!" ~ Howard
*Jack zaps an enemy
"Re-volting! Get it? cause electricity is measured in.." ~ Howard
"I WILL F'N KILL YOU!" ~ Kreese
Not to say the violence isn't awesome, but the comedy had me crying.
Then the art style, which is VERY unique for the comparison of games coming out these days.
The Okay: The Difficulty. Nowadays with hardcore games, I die incredibly fast. Although i still die in Madworld, i can beat it.
Also the power struggles are a bit...easy.
What I would change: The last boss. I mean, you go up against giant freaks like Frank, who is pretty tough, just to face...a normal person?
And the motorcycle. It was either too easy, too boring, or just...boring
All together though, I love the game.

My regards from Greece.
I really love Mad World and as a pro Wii gamer this gift form Platinum was a great experience with some minor flaws as the previous posters add to the topic.
Believe it or not this game could be a killer hit in sales if you added an arcade feel to it like on-line leader-boards for high scores and a co-op but this are things to be desired for the sequel.
Now lets get to the point.
Pros
-Great comic visual style, I loved the original Sin City from Frank Miller so the choice for black and white visuals was excellent!
-Graphical violence was over the top which concluded to the result of being comical, just like Roadrunner show.Absolutely love it!
-Pure beat 'em up of old, past the nostalgia feeling for games like Streets of Rage and Final Fight, Mad World delivers as a next gen brawler with motion controls, just like No More Heroes did with the hack 'n slash genre, motion controls for the win.
-Soundtrack.
-Locations and Stages, awesome boss fights.
-Jack,just Jack punch line.
-Wii exclusivity. The only thing that made me try Mad World was the promise of a motion controlled action game on the Wii, I hope now with motion plus add on for a sequel.
-QTE with motion controls.
-Senario of the game was very well written by Matsuno, I hope he will be on board for the sequel!
Cons
-Camera was a mess, with this lock on mechanism made it worst especially in boss fights.
-Commentary was repetitive some times like in the bloodbath challenge which you shove your enemies with bottle of "mad juice" was only one expression over and over again. In general I liked it.
-Bike sequences should had more action and variety, except enemies jump in on you on your bike, Jack could hijack a car on the move-race other cars to the finish of the stage, smash to other cars and bikes and QTE for a rescue from the collateral damage you created from the smash to your enemies bike with a gruesome chainsaw finisher.
-60Hrz for God Sake Platinum what was that with the PAL version of the game(I personally own 2 versions PAL and NTSC). Even DreamCast games had a least the option for that! Do not attempt that again.
-Published by Sega. Don't get me wrong I love Sega but the promotion for the game was awful cheap and rushed the game out of the door to kill it self. If they are willing to try again with a sequel better do it right this time just like Bayonneta.

Just finished the game myself a few hours ago.
THE GOOD
- Commentators. Greg Proops and John DiMaggio is quite possibly the greatest combination ever. I wish these guys smack-talked me in all the games I played.
- Wide Variety! So many ways to kill people, so little time. I admit I did end up relying on the same combos after a while...
- Visual style. The game looks fantastic and oozes with style. Loved the comic book sound effects popping up everywhere. Also, nice use of color.
THE BAD
- Camera, camera, camera!
- Length, length, length. I know the game has good replay value, but that doesn't excuse the crazy short length.
Good game overall! I needed some ridiculous amounts of carnage, and MadWorld delivered.

The Good
- The game oozes with visual style, I say ooze because of all the blood.
- I believe P* has found a great level of intensity in the violence and brutality of the characters where it's just insanely entertaining without being tasteless or disturbing. I think some games, like Manhunt, feel like it's more for 12 year olds who want to play grown up more than it is for actual adults.
- The sense of humor in this game is so very sharp and some moments are just so satisfyingly hysterical. Plus John DiMaggio is involved so you know it's awesome.
- The length may be "too short" for some but I thought it was just right. I think it makes it more approachable in a nice social setting. Like a friend or two can take turns doing a mission and replaying the good ones without wasting a whole weekend just trying to get to the halfway point.
The Bad
- The story was a bit convoluted, it started out simple enough then it ended with facial reconstruction surgeries and different corporations with different goals and sons and all kinds of crazy things. I think for a game like this a straight forward simple/straight forward story may not be such a bad decision. But it was kind of interesting to see where it was going to go.
- Little replay value, after completing it the first time I felt very little will to replay it again right after. I did eventually, but even so there just isn't a real big sense of reward by replaying it again unless you're really into high-scores.
- Steve Blum as Jack? While I have nothing but respect for Steve Blum and his quality of work, I never expected such an articulate, and calm voice like that come out of such a violent, possibly angry person like Jack. I kind of think he looks just a tiny bit like Jet from Cowboy Beebop and I think that voice of the character may be more fitting because it's got more of a "I've seen some $#!#" sound to it.
All in all it's a great game and I enjoyed every second of it and would recommend it to anyone, well anyone age appropriate because I don't think it's context would easily come through to a younger audience.
